Mitt the Moron and More

Mitt Romney spoke to the Senate a couple of weeks ago about the aid bill to the Ukraine. In his speech Romney said, “The vote we will soon take to provide military weapons for Ukraine is the most important vote we will ever take as United States senators.”

First, after having watched his Presidential campaigns, who knew that Romney had such a gift for hyperbole? I am fascinated by Romney claiming how important US military support is for the Ukraine. How did he feel about supporting Vietnam in the 1960's? All that I know is that he received four student deferments and a ministerial exemption for the draft until he finally got a high number in the draft lottery. I can only assume that age has changed his perspective.

Beyond that Mitt, why is the Ukraine so important? Mitt claims that if Russia takes the Ukraine, China will take Taiwan. Bad news Mitt!! The Chinese are invading the United States right now. There are thousands of illegal immigrants from China coming across the southern border. What is the reason for this sudden surge in Chinese immigrants? Inquiring minds want answers, Biden just wants them to register to vote.

The Chinese sent an enormous spy balloon over the United States last year. The Biden administration, which fervently seeks to preserve the Ukrainian border, refused to down the balloon until it had crossed over the nation and was headed out over the Atlantic Ocean. So, the President who is okay with our borders being violated, thinks that we must borrow money from China to build weapons to give the Ukraine to keep the Russians out of their country while the Chinese invade our country across our southern border. Can we get Kamala Harris to put all of this into some Venn diagrams so that she and Joe can have something to talk about over ice cream?

I don't really know anything about the Russian people. I have only encountered one Russian in my life and that was late one night at the Waffle House in Tampa. In 1973, a couple who were regular customers, brought in a young lady from Russia who was visiting the United States and may have been an exchange student. All that I remember after fifty years is that the young lady had a great smile and large breasts. I don't recall her trying to seize control of the Waffle House that night.

But back to the Russian people and their culture. Our leaders who want to pump billions into the Ukrainian war effort have not read a history book. First, the Ukraine and/or parts of that region have been a part of Russia off and on for hundreds of years. Part of that region was Russia before the United States even existed. Then, let's move from the historical aspect of the region to the traditions of the Russian military. While Hollywood is not famous for historical accuracy, Mitt should go watch "Enemy at the Gates" or read a book. The Russian strategy is to just keep pouring manpower into the battle until they win. They are just not as concerned about high levels of casualties. If George Custer had been a Russian, they would have regarded Custer's Last Stand as a victory. Get a history book!! Look at the casualties at Stalingrad. More than a million Russian soldiers died to keep Stalingrad. Do you think the loss of a hundred thousand or more will end the war in the Ukraine?

Is the aid to the Ukraine depleting our own equipment and ammunition stockpiles? The military experts deny this but their record on honesty is pretty low. The Ukrainians are going through 155MM howitzer rounds faster than we can make them. Raytheon is having to restart production of Stinger missiles that we are supplying to the Ukraine. I saw a story on the news about how Raytheon had to bring in retirees to restart the production line and get Stingers made for the Ukraine. So, what's happened to our supplies? It doesn't sound good. If we send all of our munitions to the Ukraine, what will we use in a war? Asking for a friend.

For my final historical note, I will remind you that the Charge of the Light Brigade was against the Russian army. You would think that the British would have learned. They have not.

Last, but certainly not least, are we getting accurate reports on the war in the Ukraine? In the war in South Vietnam, we were told that we were winning the war until one day the news changed. In 1965 we were told that the tide of the war had changed, and we were running the North Vietnamese out of the South. Of course, that turned out to be bullshit. When will the news change from the Ukraine?
