Miscellaneous Monday Mentions and Moans
Mercifully, the World Cup "competition" has come to an end. Who among us knew when we were playing kickball in 1960, that in 2026 thousands of foreigners would travel to America to watch a kickball tournament?
American retards liberals all now officially hate foreign visitors who have come to America to watch the World Cup and have ended up raving about how great things are here. There's nothing like watching a foreigner talk about what a great place America is to a reporter hoping to find a foreigner willing to talk trash about Trump and the United States.
Foreigners are merely confirming what we have been telling disgruntled, demon possessed Democrats for years. The United States is a great place, and the looney leftists should be thankful that they are here.
I read an article about how several stadiums that hosted World Cup events had to put in real grass fields for the World Cup games and are now pulling up the grass and reinstalling the artificial turf or as it is better known, "fuzzy concrete". All of the research and statistics shows that artificial turf causes more injuries than real grass. Yet, owners stick with the artificial turf. Honk if you don't understand that, either.
My wife and I attended a conference this weekend where we were at the same table for lunch with the only guy there who wanted to trash talk Donald Trump. I struggled to hold my tongue at lunch. Later, waiting in the hallway with my wife in the restroom, I managed to share a few of my thoughts with him. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Mayor Zero Mamdani is devoid of even a high schooler's grasp of the US Constitution and any other laws. The Moron Muslim Mayor thinks that he has the power to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu when he visits New York later this year for a UN meeting. New York City can't even collect parking ticket fines from foreign diplomats, yet Mamdani thinks that he can arrest Netenyahu based on a warrant from a court that the United States government does not recognize. People get robbed walking down the street in New York City and Mamdani does nothing about it. Tell me again about how people this stupid get elected.
On June 9 in Maine, 156,084 people voted for Graham Platner to be the Democratic candidate for the US Senate election in Maine. A few days from now, about 600 Democrats will convene to decide who will be the "real" Democratic candidate for the US Senate election in November. Is that "Democracy in Action" or "Democracy in Decline"? Forget about "darkness", democracy is "dying in daylight" in the Democratic Party.
On a serious note, my wife and I drove to Asheville Friday morning for a weekend conference. We have not been in that area since Hurricane Helene hit there almost two years. We got off I-40 to travel down to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. After traveling less than thirty miles in almost two hours, we gave up our effort and fought our way back to Asheville on 74-A. The level of destruction in the mountains is unbelievable.
Almost two years later, the state has still not been able to clean up all of the downed trees that still threaten the highways. There's nothing that compares with driving down a one lane highway because the other lane is several hundred feet down at the bottom of the mountain. The good news is that I left the blood pressure monitor at home.
Cleaning up messes like this is the responsibility of the state government. The North Carolina legislature, Gov. Josh Stein and former governor Roy Cooper all share in the responsibility for this debacle. All of these people have failed the citizens of western North Carolina.
Now, Roy Cooper wants to "serve" the people of North Carolina in the US Senate. Just say "NO!"
Of course, not all of the blame is on the state of North Carolina. It was six days after the storm before President Brain-Dead Biden signed an order allowing federal resources to be used. Did they have to wait for a day that he was coherent? Did they not have television news access in the White House? Private citizens used their personal helicopters to rescue victims and fly in supplies until military helicopters that were based less than two hours away were authorized to be used.
If you are an elected or appointed official, write this down! Government exists to serve the public. Helene was the test for service and government failed miserably.
Coincidentally, my granddaughter and her church youth group are in the mountains this week cleaning up damage. They were there last year, also. A church group is doing the work that the government won't or hasn't done.
Incredibly enough, Josh Stein and his wife visited western North Caolina this weekend also. I saw plenty of pictures of the Governor at various tourist attractions, but none of him with a chainsaw and a cleanup crew. He said that visiting western North Carolina helps give the local people the money they need to rebuild. He needs to get his ass off of I-40 and see what's going in the real world.
