This and That about Those and Them

Say what you want about President Donald Trump, but no one has created more liberal interest in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool than he has done by trying to clean it up. Who could possibly be surprised that now Democrats are portraying themselves as the protectors of algae, fungus and scum? Yes, I am talking about the Pool, not their voter base.

I haven't personally seen this level of interest in the sanctity of the Reflecting Pool since that day in October of 1972 when I couldn't decide whether to piss in the pool or find a restroom. Relax, I found a restroom.

Judging by the news reports, the Reflecting Pool liner is some kind of incredible force that pulls liberals from their everyday activities and brings them to the Lincoln Memorial. It's like a super magnet sucking in those leftist schmucks with Trump Derangement Syndrome. The liner is obviously the biggest plastic magnet in the world. We could keep Dems away from the pool liner if we told them that the Reflecting Pool is also the home of Graham Platner's "oyster farm".

The Communists on the news would have you believe that Trump is tearing the nation apart by trying to clean up the Pool. In two years, the Reflecting Pool will be Exhibit A in the Democratic Party's impeachment case against Donald Trump.

The State of North Carolina declined to participate in the Great American State Fair in Washington that ends today. Governor Josh Stein and his band of leftist ass lickers claimed that the state could not afford to spend the $100,000 that it was estimated to have cost to be there. There's just no way, given the size of the state's budget, that anyone believes this is a credible explanation. It's just another case of Trump Derangement Syndrome from the mindless, liberal bureaucrats who populate the state government. It's never about the what the people want, it's about what the unelected, overpaid bureaucrats want to do.

It's tough to say this after eight years in Cooper's Carolina, but Josh Stein is busy redefining what "worthless" actually means in the Governor's office. I didn't think that Cooper's COVID catastrophe could be topped, but Stein is at the plate, swinging for the fences. Is there intelligent life at the Governor's Mansion?

There needs to be a limit on how long anyone can work for any level of government. The easiest way to do this is to eliminate the retirement plans for government workers. If we could raise productivity in government, we would solve a litany of problems.

After Hurricane Helene hit the North Carolina mountains and caused extensive damage, it took six days to get military helicopters to the mountains to help. Governor Cooper, currently running for the US Senate failed to take any action when the storm hit. President Biden was, of course, asleep at the switch. Fort Bragg is about 200 miles from Asheville. Helicopters should have been there a few hours after the storm passed. Instead, civilian helicopters rescued scores of people and brought in supplies. Some local governments tried to prevent civilian aircraft from helping. We haven't had a real discussion on this whole fiasco. Befort liberals flock to the polls to vote for Crapper for Senate, we need to have that discussion.

Thanks to Richard Childress Racing for setting up a display at the Great American State Fair to represent North Carolina. SPEVCO and Operation HELO also participated with RCR. Reports are that hundreds of people an hour visited the exhibit. I am going to hazard a guess that North Carolina had the only NASCAR race car out there.

Mount Olive was a part of the display until a picture of a Confederate battle flag appeared in a video somewhere in the exhibit. Apparently, that was too much for the politically correct pickle people. They bailed out even after the image was removed. I can't remember the last time that I considered the battle flag in my purchase of pickles. If Mount Olive will look around, there is probably a Confederate battle flag on display somewhere in Mount Olive. Is that a reason not to buy their pickles?
