Don't take the Light Rail!!

On August 22, 2025, Iryna Zarutska, a refugee from the Ukraine was stabbed to death on the Light Rail in Charlotte. This story was kept under wraps until it blew up over the weekend. Iryna had fled the Russian war on the Ukraine only to become a casualty of the race war in America. She was killed by a black man who had been arrested 14 times previous to this assault. Why was this guy even walking the streets in Charlotte or "Little Chicago", which would be more accurate?

A few thoughts on this tragedy follow.

The City of Charlotte and the media kept the murder of the Ukrainian girl under wraps for two weeks before it broke the other day.  I guess that it is pure coincidence that today was the primary election for the mayor and other city offices in Charlotte.  WOW! Redefining corrupt!

Let's face it, a story like this coming out a couple of weeks ago would have some impact on the election. News organizations that failed to release this story are engaged in election interference.

The mayor praised the media for not releasing the story earlier so that the victim's family had privacy to grieve. When did the police notify her mother?

How long would Charlotte have kept a murder quiet if the killer had been a white guy wearing a Red Man cap and a Confederate battle flag T-shirt and the victim was a young black girl? It would have been on the national news within the hour. Their handling sure looks like racial bias to me.

Iryna Zarutska is Charlotte's Kitty Genovese. Like Kitty, she was stabbed to death while other people in that train car just looked away. How can those people justify their lack of action? As far as I am concerned, they are all accomplices to her murder.

At a press conference this afternoon, the US Attorney for Western North Carolina and the lead FBI agent were both asked a question about a report that the killer had said some about "killing a white girl" as he left the train. They both said that it was still under investigation, but their reactions in facial expression and body language both showed it to be true.

None of those people in the car called 911. They all just walked away, they did nothing to help that girl. We are looking at some serious issues of racism.

Until Josh Stein was elected, I didn't think that we could have a bigger piece of shit as governor than Roy Cooper. I was wrong! Stein should have gone to Charlotte when this story hit the news over the weekend. He could have made a bigger statement and taken the train from Raleigh to Charlotte. He stayed home. Morals and courage are fleeting in the Democratic Party.
