Monday Morning Mad Man Mix
I have been wrestling with some kind of allergy thing in my eyes for the last few days. Monday morning came and so did enough of my eyesight to hack out a post. So, a few quick thoughts while I can still see.
In 1945, after visiting a German concentration camp, Gen. Eisenhower had these words for the press. “Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.” Ike must have had a vision of the United States in the 21st Century.
In New York City, which liberals believe to be the center of their universe, protesters are demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, who has been jailed by the Trump Administration. I believe that Khalil is one of the people who Eisenhower warned us about eighty years ago. Khalil's brain-dead followers claim that he is simply a "Pro-Palestinian activist". Yeah, right! Bonie and Clyde were just a couple of travelers who borrowed money with a gun.
To believe that Khalil is simply a pro-Palestinian activist, you have to believe that Hitler was a pro-German activist. In that same alternate universe, Stalin was just trying to slay his way back to the glory days of the Romanovs. Mao killed millions in an attempt to make sure that there was enough rice to go around in China. I guess that planting more rice was out of the question.
I won't go into the history of Castro in our own backyard, but I will point out that no one trying to cross the Florida straits to flee Cuba has ever run into someone fleeing in the other direction. Yes, the Coast Guard has never picked up refugees from Key West heading to Havana.
Before listening to whining foreign students and their spineless American associates talk about how their rights are being denied, they need to ask themselves what would happen if they did this crap in any other nation on earth. Why don't they go to Syria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iraq or Iran and demand that the government give Palestinians a place in their country? I will wait to see what happens on that one.
Anti-Semitism has been a problem for ages. Trying to disguise it as "pro-Palestinianism" is simply too big an exercise in bullshitting for me to tolerate. Half of the students at Columbia are from other countries, it's time to return them to the senders. Do you ever see videos of American students marching and demonstrating in China? I will just wait here for that video link to come in.
I am fascinated by our group of liberals who are okay with blacks hating Jews but get outraged if someone says they hate blacks. American blacks have a history of anti-Semitism in this country that liberals are seemingly completely uncurious about. You either believe that anti-Semitism is wrong, or you don't. It's time to pick a side!
What other countries give visiting students the ability to protest that nation's policies? As a nation, we should be tired of being played for suckers by foreign "students". How do all of these folks have time to study with all of the protest rallies going on?
In the United Strates, we are currently being told that students need to support terrorists who launched the October 7 attacks on Israel. It's time to get a second opinion.
