There must be more than this to life!! Reflections on the perils of parenthood, politics, passing sixty, accumulating (collecting), tools, The South, The Civil War, old cars, and assorted ailments. Not to mention my obsession with stupid people!!
My sister and her husband were visiting his nephew at the VA Hospital in Tampa. He is being treated for a heart attack. A lot of wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan are being treated there. My sister sent me a photo of the sign at the front of the hospital.

Genius father of two. World class handyman and cook. Married to a beautiful woman who has tolerated me for more than forty years. I am not a collector, I am an accumulator, I like to own. I love auctions, flea markets, yard sales, trash piles. I have been interested in history since I was in the second grade. I used to be a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans but left because they have abandoned history for politics. I am now reviled by "Southern Heritage Activists" in 18 states. I love guns, tools, books, cars, militaria, and a beautiful woman.
