Thank God and Greyhound??

More than fifty years ago, Roy Clark sang a great song about a woman leaving him called "Thank God and Greyhound". Well, the Grey Dog doesn't have anything to do with today's post, but I always liked that song.

I turned on the computer this morning and was greeted by a headline that read, "O.J. Simpson, Acquitted of Murder, dead at 76". I knew that it would be a good day. I saw similar headlines on several sites, and it left me wondering, "Why do they have to tell me that OJ was acquitted?" Everybody with more than a room temperature IQ knows that son of a bitch killed his wife.

It's not like they have arrested and tried a host of other suspects in the last thirty years. Let's face the facts. No one else has even been charged in the last 30 years. I saw that the old white Ford Bronco that was the star of the worst police chase in the history of police cars was up for sale a few years ago. Whoever owns it now will be lucky to give that sled away!

It's not like he didn't get a fair trial. He got the best judgment that money could buy. Never again should we listen to people who complain that they were convicted because of their race. OJ was found not guilty because of his race. A group of black people let a black guy who played football for a living, kill his white wife and walk free. Let's talk reparations for Nicole Brown's family. Do you think that having their mother killed by a maniac had any effect on the children?

How about Ron Goldman's family? They sued Simpson and won a judgment for the death of their son. Of course, OJ paid them very little towards that judgment. The "good news" is that Simpson gave up abusing and killing women and turned to theft as a career. He spent nine years in prison. He got more for stealing than he got for killing two people. You don't see justice like that every day.

The court did not let evidence of possible domestic violence to be admitted into the trial. The police had been called to the home at least eight times before Nicole was killed. I guess that establishing a motive for murder is one of those things that only appears on television. I mentioned this just to show that the legal system in the People's Republic of Cailfornia didn't just turn to shit in the last couple of years. It's been an issue for a while now. We could have pulled Jack Webb out of retirement and had him put together a better case than the state did.

The sick, arrogant bastard published a book titled "If I did It". That's like me writing a book called, "If I were Bald". How totally deranged must you be to write a book detailing how you might have killed someone? Let's face it, he had been found innocent. Why not just go ahead and tell us that you killed her? Maybe that's why he had that book written.

In the end, OJ walked away free because he was a sports star. More importantly, he was a black sports star. This says more about what is important in this country than I could ever write. Someone from the Brown or Goldman family needs to go to the funeral and drive a stake through the bastard's heart just to make sure that he is dead. Bury him with a copy of "If I did It".

Let's just thank God and Greyhound that he's gone!! Time to take a deep breath!
