AMF, Fox and Friends!!
The "A" in "AMF" is for "adios". You are left to your own imagination for what the "M" and the "F" mean in this context. It is not "mighty fine".
On Thursday morning, I turned on the idiot box (television) to watch a little of the morning national news. I was watching Fox and Friends and was stunned as Brian Kilmeade launched an attack on a statue of General Robert E. Lee being put back up in Charleston. After a couple of minutes, I turned the television off rather than listen to any more of his swill/screed.
I dispatched an e-mail to Fox and Friends earlier this morning letting them know that they have at least one less viewer today than they did yesterday morning. I doubt that they are concerned.
I am not an expert on television ratings, but I am going to hazard a guess that the Fox and Friends show is more popular in South Carolina than whatever the morning show is on MS NOW. But maybe not this morning.
I don't know how long Kilmeade's screed about Lee lasted, but I would like to see the video of his comments about the George Floyd statue in Minneapolis. Direct me to Kilmeade's rant about the mayor of Minneapolis on remembering George Floyd on Memorial Day. Did Kilmeade's comments on these issues compare to his attack on General Lee?
I have spent my life listening to Yankees talk shit about the South and Southerners. Now that big liberal government is running the Northern states and the West Coast Commune of states into the ground, Yankees are pouring into Southern states. Why? Because the ideas of good governance are making the Southern states good places to live and to operate businesses. Is the real winner of the Civil War now in doubt?
Yankees ridicule the culture of the South but take pay cuts to live here. Make it make sense! A Yankee is attacking a statue of Lee while New York has a Communist mayor. Sorry pal, but you have bigger issues.
Of course, Kilmeade is a Yankee boy from Long Island. Indoctrinated by a failed education system, I guess that Kilmeade's statements are the best that we can expect from some Yankee schmuck. What amazed me about his comments was that he just didn't take a quick shot at Robert E. Lee and move on, he just kept putting his foot into his mouth about it. His co-hosts tried to move on, but he just kept shoveling his self-righteous Yankee bullshit. He was still ranting about Lee when I turned the television off. By that point, I think his foot was in his mouth up to about his kneecap.
If you believe that controversy boosts ratings, then maybe today will be a good ratings day for Fox and Friends. They will have to do that without any help from me.
In the restaurant business, I used to tell people that customers voted with their feet for their favorite restaurants. If you weren't giving them what they wanted, their feet would take them to a different restaurant. Television is much easier; we just vote with our thumbs on the remote. This morning, my thumb will take me to a station where braindead Brian Kilmeade is not the host.
