Mid-Week Musings
Why do people spend thousands of dollars on "off-road vehicles" only to drive them up and down the paved street? What part of "off-road" do they not understand?
Senate Democrats think that they are still the majority party. Chuck Schumer is criticizing the quality of Trump's nominees. This is the same guy who thought that Pete Butt-Gig was qualified to be the Trans Secretary. Pardon me, Secretary of Transportation. You would think that the nickname "Pothole Pete" might have been a subtle hint about Pete's level of performance.
Schumer doesn't like Pete Hegseth. He was a big supporter of Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense who didn't know how to call in sick. We will never know what would have happened if some country had attacked us while Lloyd was unconscious in the hospital and Joe Biden was unconscious in the US Virgin Islands. Maybe Trump should have just staged a coup while they were all out?
After four years at the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin is scheduled to be sold to the high bidder among defense contractors. Auction details to follow.
Just when you thought that it couldn't get any worse for the residents of Los Angeles, Kamala Harris has returned to her home there. The Secret Service is now trying to find agents with firefighting experience to be on her detail.
Traditional Protestant denominations are experiencing drops in membership. If you want to know why this is happening, watch the video of the "bishop" at the National Cathedral lecturing Donald Trump on Tuesday morning. For a little woman, she has a pretty big set of balls. Unfortunately, she failed to consider the rhetorical skills of Donald Trump. He let it simmer for a little while before he started firing off responses to her views. She hasn't heard the last of this.
If you want to see what an "Oh, my God!" face looks like, watch the video when the bishop starts attacking Trump and JD Vance turns and says something to his wife. The look on JD's face is that "Oh shit!" look you get when you know the car is about to crash.
Trump is a much more tolerant man than me. If I had been in Trump's shoes at that service, I would have stood up and gathered my family and walked out of the service. But not quietly.
Long ago and far away, when I was in high school, our Sunday School teacher made a comment that offended and/or shocked everyone in my class. I just got up and walked out. I walked down to the pastor's office and suggested that he go down to the classroom and find out what happened. He said, "Why can't you tell me what happened?" I just told him, "I'm not coming back. Maybe you can keep some of the others from leaving."
I have more thoughts about the bishop's remarks and attitude that I will share in another post. The only thing about that broad's attitude that surprises me is that she's not a United Methodist bishop.
Last week, Gov. Josh Stein of North Carolina issued an executive order to protect abortions in North Carolina. Democrats keep claiming that they have to protect abortions from Donald Trump. I guess that Supreme Court ruling that the federal government has no power to regulate abortions hasn't been read.
While Stein moves to protect abortions, North Carolinians are living in tents and travel trailers waiting for the government to help them after their homes were destroyed by the hurricane in September. However, the Democrat's biggest fear, the evil demon Trump, will be visiting there on Friday morning. I am hazarding a guess that between FEMA and the state of North Carolina, someone will be getting busy soon.
Maybe if someone told Jerkoff Josh Stein that an abortion clinic had been washed away in the floods, he would be up there checking on the situation?
If Trump wants to kick the Democrats into line, he should announce that he is going to release the names of Epstein's island visitors. Let's see those passenger lists on Air Epstein. We were told that they couldn't release that info until they finished the trial of his girlfriend. That was three years ago. What are we waiting for now?
