It's only taken 18 years?
The other day, Crystal Mangum finally admitted that she fabricated the entire story in the Duke Lacrosse case back in 2006. She's currently in a North Carolina prison for second-degree murder for killing her husband.
The Duke lacrosse case happened in 2006. It cost Duke University millions of dollars in legal settlements as they had jumped to liberal conclusions before taking the time to look at the evidence and let the legal process play out. Instead, they ended up paying $20 million each to Reade Seligman and the other two players who were charged. They also had to settle with the coach.
I published a few posts about this case on my blog. That was back in the early days. You can find my favorite post and the most viewed by readers at Random Moments of Lunacy: Reade Seligmann- Twins? Or the longest schlong in Durham??
The DA in the case, Lying Mike Nifong, was removed from office and served a day in jail for his actions in this case. He was also disbarred. He also was sued by several of the lacrosse player and was forced into bankruptcy. Like every other guilty lawyer, he wrote a book in 2014 about the case. I saw a copy at a Goodwill store and passed it up at the price of a dollar. I don't know where Nifong is today, but he never applied for a job at Bojangles while I was there.
The bottom line for the whole story is that liberals need to be fair and examine all of the evidence before reaching a conclusion. They need to do what they are always telling the rest of us to do.
Here's a link to my first post about the Duke Lacrosse case: Random Moments of Lunacy: Who knew lacrosse could be so interesting??
Are you having flashbacks to the Tawanna Brawley case which was famed race hustler Al Sharpton's big break?
