Reflections From the Road 11/24
I just returned from a six-day road trip to Moultrie, Georgia for the 35th Annual Fall Moultrie Car Show and Swap Meet. Yeah, I just call it the Moultrie car Show. The 530-mile ride down there leaves me lots of time to ponder the meaning of life and other topics while cruising down the Interstate. The back roads require a little more attention.
There are several prominent Democrats urging people in the military to disobey what they consider to be unlawful order. I think that some folks are out over their skis on this advice. Sen. Mark Kelly comes to mind for some reason. I think that a retired officer urging active-duty military personnel to disobey orders is probably against the law.
South Georgia is a big agricultural area. I was reminded when I walked into a convenience store/gas station on Friday evening around 7:00 PM and encountered about 30 likely illegals. Apparently, they had just been paid and were stocking up on cases of beer and bags of chips to get through the night. There was a bright side to it. At 5'7", I was the tallest guy in the store. First time for that in my life!
There used to be a "Southern Style" buffet in Moultrie. The sign is still there, but now it is an Asian buffet/Hibachi. I guess that it is "Southern" Asian food. I did eat there, and it was reasonably and actually pretty good.
My fears that we are a nation of fat, lazy people were once again confirmed at the car show by the horde of people riding those electric handicap vehicles around the show. They need to get off of their fat asses and walk. You have to know that it is bad when I am giving fitness pointers.
Does anyone outside of the federal government and the news media really even give a shit about Jeffery Epstein? Why didn't the Democrats release all of these files when they were in power? Just for the record, this paragraph did not write itself.
The JFK assassination was less controversial than the death of Epstein. Kennedy didn't kill himself, either.
Despite Congressional protestations to the contrary, I cannot find anything in the United States Constitution that gives a Federal Court District the right to appoint a United States Attorney. This power was given to them by a bill in Congress, which did not have the right to do that. For anyone to have the right to make appointments other than the President requires an amendment to the Constitution. This is just a case of Congress and the courts colluding to strip power from the Executive Branch. The Supreme Court needs to address this order immediately.
I relived the days of my youth and had dinner at the Waffle House one evening. Conversations revealed that no one on the staff or their parents had been born when I started working at the Waffle House. One employee asked if I needed help getting back to the truck. I flipped him and they all laughed.
If you are ever in Wrens, Georgia, be sure to stop at the Stuckey's factory and outlet store. They have a lot more than just the nut logs there. It's on US 1 at the south end of town; tell them Gil sent you.
My plan to make my usual stop on the way back home at the Buccees in Warner-Robbins was sidelined when I saw that the line of cars waiting to get in the lot was backed down I-75. I don't possess the patience needed to make that kind of wait.
I saw that Comey's case was dismissed by a federal judge. Comey's only problem now is all of the other laws that he violated.
North Carolina Governor Josh Stein is the new standard for worthless. If he cared as much about North Carolinians who lost their homes during Hurricane Helene as he does about illegals in Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, this would be a great state.
