Waiting for Obamacare to Start

Thanksgiving 2012

Today is Thanksgiving Day, 2012. A lot has changed since this time last year.

I started a new job seven weeks ago and it has been an interesting time. I have been asked by several people what it is like to start all over again this late in life. I'll let you know when I figure that one out.

We have a new granddaughter, she will be a year old in a few weeks. I have posted pictures of Alice on this blog, so if you haven't seen her, it's your fault!

It's been a year since Mom died. There are days that it is still a little tough to handle.

Last week, Ronnie G. Wilson, former head of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, was sentenced to 19 1/2 years in prison for operating a $90 million Ponzi scheme. This is the guy who accused me of "conduct unbecoming a gentleman". The photo of him leaving the Federal Courthouse in handcuffs and shackles made all of the waiting worthwhile.

Last month I was elected as an elder at Buffalo Presbyterian Church. I start in that position in January.  If you are one of those stunned by that news, don't worry. You have company.

The election didn't go the way I wanted, but we will survive. H.L. Mencken is remembered for saying something like, "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

The turkey is in the oven, the peanut butter pies are in the refrigerator, there's nothing left to do but sit here and ponder the meaning of life.

I wonder why people are all obsessed with Black Friday and getting the best deals for Christmas gifts. Many of those people are celebrating a holiday for a religion that they don't practice. Do you think that there will be a line of people waiting to get in at the church doors on Christmas Eve??

Last Sunday at church, I pointed out that our culture and our nation are undergoing a sea change. If we want our values to prevail, we need to get our message out. I can't change the world, but I can change my little corner of the world. Time to get busy on that!

This message showed up in my e-mail this morning.

                                           ObituaryOn November 6, 2012 the once great nation of the United States of America, was found robbed, brutally raped, and murdered. She was known as the Lady who could always be trusted to provide aid in a time of need. With open arms she provided food for the needy, shelter for the homeless, businesses for the jobless, and happiness to those who chose to pursue it. She was the queen of honesty, trustworthy and dependable, beloved of people world-wide.
Her accused murderer is a well-known Muslim dictator posing as a Christian President. Even though she had been warned by her God fearing neighbors that he was an abomination and shouldn’t be trusted she ignored their warning. Thru lies and deceit he led her down a dark alley flooded on both sides. After starving her for four years, providing her only with food stamps and government jobs, he then began to brutally rape her.
Her left arm of New Jersey and New York was left to fester in the devastation and ruin of Hurricane Sandy, while her right arm of California which was broken in bankruptcy and corruption was bound behind her back.
Her abdomen was found filled with illegal aliens, terrorists, and drug dealers of multiple countries crawling through her intestines trying not to be exposed.
He cut out her heart, made up of the Military and Ambassadors of good will, with lies, deceit, and dishonesty. It was found burned, murdered, torn apart, and thrown at the feet of Russia and Iran.
He slowly choked the breath of entrepreneurship, small businesses, and jobs from her already dying body, with his socialism, taxes, and Obamacare.
Her hair, once beautiful locks of golden churches, that taught goodness, morality, and was filled with God fearing Christians, was found frayed and tattered. Pulled out by the roots in immorality, abominations, and pooled in the blood of aborted children surrounding her head.
With his forked tongue of lying, cheating, deceiving, murdering deceit, racial accusations, and class warfare he proceeded to divide her in half. Her end was viewed by all of his cheering brothers of the Muslim world.
